Hello, I’m Leonora

I’m an experienced editor of numerous prize winners and shortlisted titles, and titles optioned for TV and film.

Currently, I’m an Editorial Director at Bluemoose Books, an independent publishing house based in West Yorkshire. And I teach English, Creative Writing, and lots of other fun things at Swarthmore Education Centre in Leeds. I also work with IASK in Kirklees, supporting people who have just arrived here.

For the last fifteen years, I’ve been mentoring, consulting, and teaching creative writing in colleges, workshops and retreats, and at university to a degree level.

I’m an editor

I can lead and support all main aspects of the editorial process, including acquisition, assessment, development, copy editing, book coaching and proofreading. And I specialise in literary fiction, science fiction and memoir.

Original and exciting writers rise through independent publishing. Our bat senses
are tuned to the slightest seam of gold and our pride is in polishing great stories to
their truest shine.

My strength is in finding the sacred heart of a story and assisting the writer to develop it till everything marches easily to that beat.

As a teacher, writer and editor, I am a confident guide and an empowering mentor.

Here’s how we can work together ➛

(I like dogs and cakes and time travel, if your writing includes any of those, let me know)
